Compete Worldwide in Virtual Sports Competition

Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball 2008 is a major breakthrough in multi-player gaming. It is the first technology which lets complete teams of 9 players challenge other complete teams in a virtual version of baseball, real-time over a broadband PC connection. RB delivers a first-person perspective to every player. The game utilizes patented “dynamic re-sequencing” technology to minimize latency, giving players the most realistic baseball playing experience possible today.

In Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball 2008, players create their own characters, and gain experience for every game they play. When their character “levels up,” they get points that they can use to increase their character’s abilities in areas such as running speed, throwing power, batting power, etc. Unlike traditional baseball video games, RB lets players play with teammates - everyone sees the game from their own character’s first-person perspective. And just as in baseball, team communication (team chat) is essential for success on the field. Teams and individuals can compete in tournaments to win cash and other valuable prizes.

To ensure a true baseball player experience, Cal Ripken, Jr., Hall-of-Famer and holder of the record for most consecutive games played, serves as RB’s principle baseball consultant.
